L'église rectangulaire du petit village de Vollersroda est relativement grande et massive. Il a une aura très spéciale. Lyonel Feininger en était déjà conscient lorsqu'il a exploré les environs de Weimar avec son carnet de croquis. Il a capturé l'église dans deux peintures et une gravure sur bois énergique. L'église est située un peu en hauteur au-dessus de l'Ilmbogen et offre une vue sur le Weimarer Land. Une petite niche de sacrement gothique témoigne de l'édifice prédécesseur du Moyen Âge. L'intérieur est peint de façon lugubre selon le 19ème siècle. Des fonts baptismaux et la statue d'un saint sont plus anciens que l'église actuelle. Les cloches en bronze datent de 1877.

The rectangular church in the small village of Vollersroda is relatively large and massive. It has a very special aura. Lyonel Feininger was already aware of this when he explored the area around Weimar with his sketchpad. He captured the church in two paintings and an energetic woodcut. The church is situated somewhat elevated above the Ilmbogen with a view of the Weimarer Land. A small Gothic sacrament niche bears witness to the predecessor building from the Middle Ages. The interior is gloomily painted according to the 19th century. A baptismal font and a statue of a saint are older than the present church. The bronze bells date back to 1877.

Relativ groß und wuchtig wirkt die rechteckig gebaute Kirche in dem kleinen Örtchen Vollersroda. Sie hat eine ganz besondere Ausstrahlung. Das fand auch schon Lyonel Feininger, als er mit seinem Skizzenblock das Umland von Weimar erkundete. Er hat die Kirche in zwei Gemälden und einem energischen Holzschnitt festgehalten. Die Kirche liegt etwas erhöht über dem Ilmbogen mit Blick auf das Weimarer Land. Eine kleine gotische Sakramentsnische zeugt vom Vorgängerbau aus dem Mittelalter. Die Ausmalung des Innenraumes ist düster nach den Gesichtspunkten des 19. Jahrhunderts ausgemalt. Ein Taufstein und eine Heiligenfigur sind älter als die heutige Kirche. Die Bronzeglocken stammen aus dem Jahr 1877.
