Wartmannsroth est une commune pittoresque située dans l'arrondissement de Bad Kissingen. Elle s'étend sur une superficie d'environ 32 kilomètres carrés et compte environ 2 000 habitants. Wartmannsroth se compose de plusieurs hameaux, dont Wartmannsroth même, Völkersleier, Heckmühle, Heiligkreuz, Dittlofsroda, Waizenbach, Windheim, Neuwirtshaus et Schwärzelbach. Le paysage est caractérisé par de douces collines sillonnées par de nombreuses petites rivières et ruisseaux. Dans la vallée de la Schondra, certains de ces petits cours d'eau serpentent à travers les vallées paradisiaques, leur conférant ainsi une atmosphère tout à fait particulière. Près de la limite communale entre Dittlofroda et Gräfendorf se trouve le Trettstein. Avec ses six mètres de hauteur, c'est la plus grande cascade de la région de la Saale franconienne. Les étangs de Waizenbach constituent un autre point fort. En été, de nombreux nénuphars y fleurissent. Le paysage est également marqué par de vastes vergers et des champs de céréales, qui fournissent les matières premières pour les eaux-de-vie de qualité produites sur place. La commune de Wartmannsroth a été labellisée « lieu de plaisir bavarois » en raison de sa tradition de distillation vieille de près de 300 ans et de la plus forte densité de distilleries de Bavière. L'art de la distillation s'incarne lors d'une randonnée sur l'un des itinéraires thématiques du « Brennerweg ». À l'issue de la randonnée, les bars à distillats invitent à une dégustation de ces nectars raffinés, accompagnés de fromages, de charcuterie et d'œufs issus de la production régionale.

Wartmannsroth consists of several districts, including Wartmannsroth itself, Völkersleier, Heckmühle, Heiligkreuz, Dittlofsroda, Waizenbach, Windheim, Neuwirtshaus, and Schwärzelbach. The landscape is characterized by rolling hills crisscrossed by numerous small rivers and streams. In the Schondra Valley, some of these streams meander through the idyllic valleys, lending them a very special atmosphere. Near the municipal border between Dittlofsroda and Gräfendorf lies the Trettstein. At six meters, this is the largest waterfall in the Franconian Saale region. Another highlight is the Waizenbach Ponds. Here, numerous water lilies bloom in the summer. The landscape is also characterized by expansive orchard meadows and grain fields, which provide the raw materials for the fine spirits produced there. The municipality of Wartmannsroth has been designated a “Place of Culinary Delight in Bavaria” due to its distilling tradition, which dates back some 300 years, and the highest density of distilleries in Bavaria. The art of distilling comes to life during a hike along one of the themed routes of the Brennerweg. Afterward, the distillery bars invite visitors to sample the fine spirits paired with cheese, sausage, and eggs from local producers.

Wartmannsroth besteht aus mehreren Ortsteilen, darunter Wartmannsroth selbst, Völkersleier, Heckmühle, Heiligkreuz, Dittlofsroda, Waizenbach, Windheim, Neuwirtshaus und Schwärzelbach. Die Landschaft ist geprägt von sanften Hügeln, die von zahlreichen kleinen Flüssen und Bächen durchzogen werden. Im Schondratal schlängeln sich einige dieser Flüsschen durch die paradiesischen Täler und verleihen ihnen somit eine ganz besondere Atmosphäre. In der Nähe der Gemeindegrenze zwischen Dittlofroda und Gräfendorf befindet sich der Trettstein. Dieser ist mit sechs Meter der größte Wasserfall im Bereich der Fränkischen Saale. Ein weiteres Highlight sind die Waizenbacher Teiche. Hier blühen im Sommer zahlreiche Wasserlilien. Auch wird die Landschaft von weitläufigen Streuobstwiesen und Getreidefeldern geprägt, welche die Rohstoffe für die dort produzierten Edelbrände liefern. Die Gemeinde Wartmannsroth ist aufgrund ihrer seit rund 300 Jahren dauernden Brenntradition und der höchsten Brennereidichte Bayerns als Genussort Bayern ausgezeichnet. Die Kunst des Brennens wird bei einer Wanderung auf einer der Themenrouten des Brennerweges erlebbar gemacht. Im Anschluss laden die Destillatheken zu einer Verkostung der edlen Tropfen in Kombination mit Käse, Wurst und Eiern aus regionaler Produktion ein.
