Auch in diesem Jahr finden in Kooperation zwischen der Kreissparkasse Saale-Orla und der Stadt Schleiz die Schleizer Lesetage in der Wisentahalle statt. Auftakt der Lesetage bildet diesmal eine musikalische Lesung mit Kati Naumann. Sie liest aus ihrem aktuellen Roman „Fernwehland“. Die Astoria ist das älteste seetüchtige Kreuzfahrtschiff der Welt. Unter dem Namen Völkerfreundschaft brachte das Schiff einst ausgewählte DDR-Bürger an schier unerreichbare Sehnsuchtsorte. Auf seinen Fahrten bis in die Karibik geraten das Schiff und seine Passagiere auch zwischen die Fronten des Kalten Krieges. This year, the Schleiz Reading Days will once again take place in the Wisentahalle, a joint event of the Saale-Orla District Savings Bank and the town of Schleiz. The Reading Days will kick off with a musical reading by Kati Naumann. She will read from her latest novel, "Fernwehland" (Land of Wanderlust). The Astoria is the oldest seaworthy cruise ship in the world. Originally named Völkerfreundschaft (Friendship of Nations), the ship once transported select East German citizens to seemingly unattainable destinations. On its voyages as far as the Caribbean, the ship and its passengers also found themselves caught between the front lines of the Cold War. Kati Naumann will be accompanied by the ship's band.
