Depuis le pont sur la Saale dans le village, nous montons, passons le camping et la passerelle ferroviaire en direction de Blankenstein. Peu avant la sortie du village, nous grimpons à droite, passons le réservoir d'eau vers Absang, avec une belle vue sur Blankenberg, la montagne et Blankenstein. Nous atteignons Bärwinkel, descendons à gauche au hameau vers le Moschwitzgrund, l’ancienne frontière intérieure allemande, maintenant la "Ceinture Verte". Dans la vallée, nous marchons jusqu’au moulin de Dorschen. À partir de septembre, une prairie avec des colchiques peut être admirée ici. Après une courte montée, nous atteignons le "Kießlinger Alm", avec vue sur la vallée Moschwitz. Nous suivons le chemin forestier en montée à travers une futaie de sapins et de jeunes bois mixtes avec vue sur la ville de Lichtenberg et la région de la Forêt de Franconie. Au point culminant de la randonnée, Wiesbühl à 624 m, avec une vue lointaine jusqu’à l’Ochsenkopf. Nous marchons un court moment sur le Rennsteig en direction de Blankenstein jusqu’à l’aire de repos. Ici, nous traversons la route et continuons vers le bois de Matzbühl. À la lisière de la forêt, on a une vue sur la prairie Stauden et la vallée de la Saale jusqu’à la Fürstenhöhe à Saalburg. Nous suivons la lisière de la forêt vers la gauche en descendant jusqu’au prochain chemin forestier jusqu’à la route de liaison Bad Lobenstein/Harra. Après environ 200 m, nous quittons la route en direction du Totenfels avec vue sur la région Alpensteig. Un détour vers le Totenfelsen vaut la peine en raison de la belle vue sur Harra et la vallée de la Saale. Nous suivons le chemin jusqu’au point de départ de la randonnée.

From the Saale bridge in the village, we walk uphill, past the campsite over the railway bridge towards Blankenstein. Just before leaving the village, we take the climb on the right, past the elevated tank continuing towards Absang, with a great view of Blankenberg, Berg, and Blankenstein. We reach Bärwinkel, go left downhill at the farm towards Moschwitzgrund, the former inner-German border, now the "Green Belt". In the valley floor, we walk to Dorschenmühle. From September, a meadow with autumn crocuses can be admired here. After a short climb, we reach the "Kießlinger Alm," with a view of the Moschwitz valley. We follow the forest path uphill through spruce and young mixed forest with views of the town of Lichtenberg and the Franconian Forest region. At the highest point of the hike, Wiesbühl at 624m, there is a distant view up to the Ochsenkopf. We walk a short distance on the Rennsteig towards Blankenstein to the seating area. Here we cross the street and continue towards the Matzbühl forest section. At the forest edge, there is a view of the Stauden meadow and the Saale valley to Fürstenhöhe in Saalburg. We follow the forest edge downhill to the next forest road to the connecting road Bad Lobenstein/Harra. After about 200 m, we leave the road towards Totenfels with a view of the Alpensteig region. A detour to the Totenfelsen is worthwhile because of the beautiful view of Harra and the Saale valley. We continue the route to the starting point of the hike.

Von der Saalebrücke im Ort gehen wir bergauf, vorbei am Campingplatz über die Bahnbrücke in Richtung Blankenstein. Kurz vor dem Ortsausgang wandern wir rechts den Anstieg, vorbei am Hochbehälter weiter Richtung Absang, mit tollem Ausblick auf Blankenberg, Berg und Blankenstein. Wir erreichen Bärwinkel, gehen am Gehöft links bergabwärts zum Moschwitzgrund, der ehemaligen innerdeutsche Grenze, jetzt „Grünes Band“. Im Talgrund wandern wir bis Dorschenmühle. Ab September kann hier eine Wiese mit Herbstzeitlosen bewundert werden. Nach kurzem Aufstieg erreichen wir die „Kießlinger Alm“, mit Ausblick aufs Moschwitztal. Dem Waldweg folgen wir bergauf durch Fichten- und jungen Mischwaldbestand mit Aussicht auf die Stadt Lichtenberg und die Frankenwaldregion. Am höchsten Punkt der Wanderung, Wiesbühl auf 624m, mit einer Fernsicht bis zum Ochsenkopf.  Wir wandern ein kurzes Stück auf dem Rennsteig Richtung Blankenstein bis zur Sitzgruppe. Hier überqueren wir die Straße und laufen weiter Richtung Waldstück Matzbühl.  Am Waldrand hat man einen Ausblick auf die Staudenwiese und das Saaletal bis zur Fürstenhöhe in Saalburg. Wir folgen dem Waldrand links entlang bergab bis zum nächsten Forstweg bis zur Ortsverbindungsstraße Bad Lobenstein/Harra. Nach ca. 200 m verlassen wir die Straße in Richtung  Totenfels mit  Aussicht auf die  Alpensteigregion. Ein Abstecher zum Totenfelsen lohnt sich wegen der schönen Aussicht auf Harra und das Saaletal. Wir folgen dem Weg weiter bis zum Ausgangspunkt der Wanderung.
