Die Wanderung beginnt in der Eisenacher Innenstadt am Marktplatz. Dort befindet sich das Rathaus, das Stadtschloss mit dem Thüringer Museum und die Georgenkirche. In der Stadtkirche predigte schon Martin Luther während der Reformation und Johann Sebastian Bach wurde dort getauft. Vom Markt geht es zur Predigerkirche, welche im 13 Jh. zu Ehren der Heiligen Elisabeth als Teil eines Dominikanerklosters erbaut wurde. Hier beginnt der Luthererlebnispfad, der über den Eisenacher Schlossberg bis zur Eselstation führt. Der steile aber sehr interessante Aufstieg informiert anhand 15 großflächiger Tafeln über den Reformator und wirft einen Blick auf bedeutende geschichtliche Ereignisse während Luthers Lebenszeit, z. B. die Einführung des Buchdrucks, die Entdeckung Amerikas oder die Fortschritte in der Medizin und der Astronomie.  Ein letztes mal geht es steil bergauf zur Wartburg. Wegen ihrer heraus­ragenden kultur­ge­schichtlichen Bedeutung wurde sie 1999 von der UNESCO zum „Welterbe der Mensch­heit“ erklärt. Nach einer ausführlichen Besichtigung beginnt der Abstieg vorbei am Elisabethplan, einem inoffiziellen Wallfahrtsort (Rosenwunder), an dem einst ca. 1225 ein kleines Hospital für kranke und bedürftige Menschen stand, welches von der heiligen Elisabeth gestiftet wurde. Heute erinnert nur noch der Elisabethbrunnen an das einstige Hospital. Nach dem Besuch des Elisabethplan beginnt der Abstieg durch das Helltal zum Reuter-Wagner-Museum. Eine stilvoll eingerichtete Villa, welche die größte Wagner-Sammlung außerhalb Bayreuths beherbergt.

La randonnée commence dans le centre-ville d'Eisenach sur la place du marché. Là se trouvent l'hôtel de ville, le château de ville avec le musée de Thuringe et l'église Saint-Georges. Dans cette église de ville, Martin Luther prêchait déjà pendant la Réforme et Johann Sebastian Bach y a été baptisé. Du marché, tu te diriges vers la église des Prêcheurs, construite au 13e siècle en l'honneur de Sainte Élisabeth comme partie d'un couvent dominicain. C'est ici que commence le parcours découverte Luther qui monte par le Schlossberg d'Eisenach jusqu’à la station des ânes. La montée, raide mais très intéressante, informe à travers 15 panneaux d’informations grand format sur le réformateur et jette un regard sur des événements historiques importants durant la vie de Luther, par exemple l’introduction de l’imprimerie, la découverte de l’Amérique ou les progrès dans la médecine et l’astronomie. Une dernière fois, la montée est raide jusqu'à la Wartburg. En raison de son importance culturelle et historique remarquable, elle a été déclarée en 1999 « patrimoine mondial de l’humanité » par l’UNESCO. Après une visite détaillée, la descente commence en passant par Elisabethplan, un lieu de pèlerinage officieux (miracle des roses), où vers 1225 se trouvait un petit hôpital pour les malades et nécessiteux, fondé par Sainte Élisabeth. Aujourd’hui, seul le puits d’Élisabeth rappelle l’ancien hôpital. Après la visite de l’Elisabethplan, la descente continue par la vallée claire jusqu’au musée Reuter-Wagner. Une villa aménagée avec style, qui abrite la plus grande collection Wagner en dehors de Bayreuth.

The hike begins in the Eisenach city center at the market square. There you will find the town hall, the city palace with the Thuringian Museum and the Georgen Church. Martin Luther preached in the city church during the Reformation and Johann Sebastian Bach was baptized there. For detailed information on the sights, you can visit the Luther Trail Information Center (Tourist Information). From the market, you go to the Preacher's Church, built in the 13th century in honor of Saint Elisabeth as part of a Dominican monastery. Here begins the Luther Experience Trail, which leads over the Eisenach Schlossberg to the Donkey Station. The steep but very interesting ascent features 15 large panels that inform about the reformer and look at significant historical events during Luther's lifetime, e.g., the introduction of the printing press, the discovery of America, or advances in medicine and astronomy.  One last steep climb leads to the Wartburg. Due to its outstanding cultural-historical significance, it was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999. After a detailed visit, the descent begins past the Elisabeth Plan, an unofficial pilgrimage site (Miracle of the Rose), where around 1225 a small hospital for sick and needy people, founded by Saint Elisabeth, once stood. Today, only the Elisabeth Fountain commemorates the former hospital. After visiting the Elisabeth Plan, the descent continues through the Helltal to the Reuter-Wagner Museum. A stylishly furnished villa that hosts the largest Wagner collection outside Bayreuth.
