Eine mystische Burgruine, ein schmaler Waldpfad und ein Tal von stiller Schönheit erwarten dich auf diese Tour rund um den Arnsberg. Am Wanderparkplatz Bergbaude schnürst du deine Wanderschuhe und begibst dich zunächst auf weitgehend ebenen Pfad zur Burgruine Hallenburg. Das Wahrzeichen der Stadt Steinbach-Hallenberg thront auf einem Porphyrfelsen und ragt malerisch aus dem sie umgebenden Buchenwald heraus. Dort angekommen solltest du unbedingt den Abstecher auf den Bergfried nehmen. Beeindruckend ist der Ausblick über die Stadt und das Haseltal. Deinen Weg setzt du nun über den Spitzbubenweg fort. Der Pfad führt dich durch lichten Hochwald bis nach Unterschönau und in das Dörmbachtal. Die Schönheit des Tales lässt bei vielen Wanderfreunden aus der Region das Herz höherschlagen. Du durchwanderst das Tal in Richtung Wandergebiet Knüllfeld. Am beliebten Sonnenplateau der Einheimischen kannst du dich bei einer Einkehr noch einmal stärken bevor es über die Unterdörfer Wand zurück zum Ausgangspunkt geht.

A mystical castle ruin, a narrow forest path and a valley of silent beauty await you on this route around the Arnsberg. At the Bergbaude hiking car park, lace up your hiking boots and first follow a largely level path to the Hallenburg castle ruin. The landmark of the town of Steinbach-Hallenberg rests on a porphyry rock and rises picturesquely from the surrounding beech forest. Once there, be sure to take the detour to the bergfried (keep). The view over the town and Haseltal valley is impressive. You then continue your way along Spitzbubenweg. The path takes you through open high forest to Unterschönau and into the Dörmbachtal valley. The beauty of the valley makes many regional hiking fans’ hearts beat faster. You cross the valley towards the hiking area Knüllfeld. At the popular sun plateau of the locals you can take a break for refreshments before returning over Unterdörfer Wand to the starting point.
