Der Wanderer befindet sich im Naturpark Eichsfeld-Hainich-Werratal. Vom Ausgangspunkt, führt der Wanderweg durch das Pferdebachtal, ein bezauberndes Waldtal mit Geschichte: An der ehemaligen Schmalspurbahn nach Eschwege wurden im Dritten Reich Kraft- und Schmierstoffe gelagert. Heute dient die alte Trasse als schöner Wanderweg. Am Ende des Tals erreicht der Wanderer den Warteberg. Die Anhöhe bietet einen wunderbaren Blick hin zum Thüringer Wald im Süden und dem Brocken im Norden. Nach math. Bestimmungen der Universität Bonn befindet sich der Mittelpunkt Deutschlands auf dem 516 Meter hohen Warteberg. Auf dem weiteren Weg liegt die Antoniuskapelle. Die Kapelle ist eng verbunden mit dem um 1750 entstandenem Stationsweg und einer einzigartigen Bergahornallee. Der Weg führt weiter nach Geisleden, einem der ältesten Orte des Eichsfeldes. Von hier gelangt der Wanderer auf ein Teilstück des Pilgerwegs Loccum-Volkenroda, zurück in die historische Hauptstadt des Eichsfelds, Heilbad Heiligenstadt.

Le randonneur se trouve dans le Parc naturel Eichsfeld-Hainich-Werratal. Depuis le point de départ, le sentier traverse la vallée de Pferdebach, une charmante vallée forestière chargée d'histoire : sur l'ancienne voie de chemin de fer à voie étroite vers Eschwege, des carburants et lubrifiants étaient stockés durant le Troisième Reich. Aujourd'hui, l'ancienne voie est utilisée comme un agréable sentier de randonnée. Au bout de la vallée, le randonneur atteint le Warteberg. La hauteur offre une vue magnifique vers la forêt de Thuringe au sud et le Brocken au nord. Selon des calculs mathématiques de l'université de Bonn, le centre de l'Allemagne se trouve sur le Warteberg, haut de 516 mètres. Sur le chemin, se trouve la chapelle Saint-Antoine. La chapelle est étroitement liée au chemin des stations créé vers 1750 et à une allée unique d'érables sycomores. Le sentier continue vers Geisleden, l'un des plus anciens villages d'Eichsfeld. De là, le randonneur rejoint un tronçon du chemin de pèlerinage Loccum-Volkenroda, pour revenir à la capitale historique d'Eichsfeld, Heilbad Heiligenstadt.

The hiker is in the Eichsfeld-Hainich-Werratal Nature Park. From the starting point, the hiking trail leads through the Pferdebachtal, a charming forest valley with history: During the Third Reich, fuel and lubricants were stored along the former narrow-gauge railway to Eschwege. Today, the old track serves as a beautiful hiking trail. At the end of the valley, the hiker reaches the Warteberg. The hill offers a wonderful view towards the Thuringian Forest in the south and the Brocken to the north. According to mathematical determinations by the University of Bonn, the geographical center of Germany is located on the 516-meter-high Warteberg. Along the way lies the Antonius Chapel. The chapel is closely connected to the Stationsweg built around 1750 and a unique sycamore avenue. The path continues to Geisleden, one of the oldest villages in the Eichsfeld. From here, the hiker reaches a section of the Loccum-Volkenroda pilgrimage route, returning to the historic capital of Eichsfeld, Heilbad Heiligenstadt.
