Startpunkt ist der Parkplatz Ulmenstein. Schon nach wenigen Schritten erreichst du einen stillen, fast kreisrunden See – eingerahmt von eindrucksvollen Basaltsäulen. Weiter geht es auf schmalen Pfaden durch alte Mischwälder. Hier begleiten dich das Knacken der Zweige, der Ruf der Vögel und das leise Rauschen im Blätterdach. Dann öffnet sich die Landschaft: Wiesen, Felder und Streuobst wechseln sich ab. Die Kalkmagerrasen am Weg sind ein Hotspot der Artenvielfalt. Erlebnisstationen erklären, warum gerade hier seltene Pflanzen und Tiere überleben. Zwei Kapellen auf Anhöhen begleiten die Route: die Laurentiuskapelle bei Mittelaschenbach und die Nothelferkapelle bei Hofaschenbach. Am Himmelsschauplatz kannst du den Blick noch einmal schweifen lassen, bevor du zum Ausgangspunkt zurückkehrst.

Le point de départ est le parking Ulmenstein. Après quelques pas, tu arrives à un lac paisible, presque circulaire – encadré par d’impressionnantes colonnes basaltiques. La progression continue sur des sentiers étroits à travers de vieilles forêts mixtes. Tu es accompagné par le craquement des branches, le chant des oiseaux et le doux bruissement du feuillage. Ensuite, le paysage s’ouvre : prairies, champs et vergers s’alternent. Les pelouses calcaires au bord du chemin sont un point chaud pour la biodiversité. Des stations d’expérience expliquent pourquoi des plantes et animaux rares survivent ici. Deux chapelles situées en hauteur accompagnent le parcours : la chapelle Saint-Laurent près de Mittelaschenbach et la chapelle des Saints Protecteurs près de Hofaschenbach. Au point d’observation Himmelsschauplatz, tu peux encore une fois laisser ton regard vagabonder avant de retourner au point de départ.

The starting point is the Ulmenstein parking lot. After just a few steps, you reach a quiet, almost circular lake – framed by impressive basalt columns. Then continue on narrow paths through old mixed forests. Here you are accompanied by the cracking of twigs, the call of the birds and the quiet rustling in the leaf canopy. Then the landscape opens up: meadows, fields and orchards alternate. The calcareous dry grasslands along the way are a hotspot of biodiversity. Experience stations explain why rare plants and animals survive here. Two chapels on heights accompany the route: the Laurentius chapel near Mittelaschenbach and the Nothelfer chapel near Hofaschenbach. At the Himmelsschauplatz you can let your gaze wander once again before returning to the starting point.
