In der herrlichen Landschaft im Werratal zwischen Thüringer Wald und Rhön liegt die schöne Kur- und Kreisstadt Bad Salzungen. Hier führt der Storchenstieg an zwei Storchskulpturen und der Storchenwiese mit drei Schautafeln zum Thema Storch vorbei. Außerdem gab es früher mehrere Horststandorte in der Stadt. Heute finden die Störche auf dem Bohrturm der Gradieranlagen ein Zuhause und genießen dabei die gute Salzunger Sole-Luft. Denn in dem historischen Gradierwerk rieselt Sole von den Reisigwänden, hier atmet man wie bei einem Spaziergang am Meer. Auf dem Turm wurde eine moderne Stahlkonstruktion als neue Nestunterlage errichtet und mit einer Storchenkamera ausgerüstet. Diese Kamera überträgt live auf einen TV an der Tourist-Info. Aber zurück zum Gradierwerk, denn hier beginnt am Wandertreff unser "Storchenstieg". An der Kurpromenade laufen wir entlang, vorbei am Sole-Aktivbad mit Saunalandschaft. Hier kann nach der Wanderrunde mit der ganzen Familie tiefen entspannt werden. Wir erreichen die Touristinfo mit besagter Storchen-Cam und laufen weiter zum Wohnmobilstellplatz, wo sich die Kinder auf dem großen Kinderspielplatz direkt austoben können. Entlang der Werraaue und durch die Werrawiesen kommen wir zum Ortsteil Kloster. Hier wird auf Schautafeln die Ortsgeschichte erklärt. Es beginnt ein Anstieg zur Burgruine Frankenstein und wir erreichen den Waldspielplatz sowie das grüne Klassenzimmer. Nach einer Lasso-Runde um den Frankenstein nehmen wir den gleichen Weg zurück ins Tal. Wem all dieses Angebot am Wegesrand noch nicht ausreicht: Ihr findet darüber hinaus auch Relaxliegen, ein Guckrohr und eine Fotowand entlang des Weges. Dieser Weg wurde durch die Europäische Union und den Freistaat Thüringen mit EFRE-Mitteln gefördert.

Dans le magnifique paysage de la vallée de la Werra entre la forêt de Thuringe et la Rhön se trouve la jolie ville thermale et de district Bad Salzungen. Ici, le parcours des cigognes passe à côté de deux sculptures de cigognes et de la prairie aux cigognes avec trois panneaux d'information sur le thème de la cigogne. Autrefois, il y avait plusieurs sites de nidification en ville. Aujourd'hui, les cigognes trouvent un foyer sur la tour de forage de la saline et profitent ainsi de l'air salin de Bad Salzungen. Dans la saline historique, la saumure ruisselle sur les murs en branchages, on respire ici comme lors d'une promenade au bord de la mer. Sur la tour, une construction en acier moderne a été installée comme nouveau support de nid et équipée d'une caméra à cigognes. Cette caméra retransmet en direct sur un téléviseur à l'office de tourisme. Mais revenons à la saline, car ici commence au point de départ notre "parcours des cigognes". Nous longeons la promenade thermale, passons près du centre d'activités de la saline avec sa zone sauna. Après la balade, toute la famille peut se détendre profondément ici. Nous atteignons l'office de tourisme avec la fameuse caméra à cigognes, puis continuons jusqu'à l'aire de stationnement pour camping-cars où les enfants peuvent s'amuser sur la grande aire de jeux située directement au bord de la Werra. Le long de la lisière de la Werra et à travers les prairies de la Werra, nous arrivons au quartier Kloster. Des panneaux expliquent ici l'histoire locale. Commence ensuite une montée vers la ruine du château Frankenstein, où se trouvent aussi une aire de jeux forestière et un "classroom" en pleine nature. Après un tour en lasso autour du Frankenstein, nous empruntons le même chemin pour redescendre dans la vallée. Si toutes ces propositions au bord du chemin ne suffisent pas : vous trouverez également des chaises longues, une lunette d'observation et un mur photo tout au long du parcours. Ce parcours a été financé par l'Union européenne et l'État libre de Thuringe avec des fonds du FEDER.

In the beautiful landscape of the Werra valley between the Thuringian Forest and Rhön lies the lovely spa and district town of Bad Salzungen. Here, the Stork Route passes two stork sculptures and the stork meadow with three display panels on the subject of storks. Furthermore, there used to be several nesting sites in the town. Today, the storks find a home on the drilling tower of the graduation towers and enjoy the good salty air of Bad Salzungen. Because in the historic graduation tower, brine trickles down the bundles of twigs; here you breathe as if on a walk by the sea. A modern steel construction was installed on the tower as a new nesting base and equipped with a stork camera. This camera broadcasts live onto a TV at the tourist info. But back to the graduation tower, because our "Stork Route" starts here at the hiking meeting point. We walk along the spa promenade, past the brine swimming pool with sauna area. Here, after the hiking round, the whole family can deeply relax. We reach the tourist info with the aforementioned stork cam and continue to the motorhome parking area where children can play freely on the large playground right by the Werra riverbank. Along the Werra floodplain and through the Werra meadows, we come to the district of Kloster. Here, display panels explain the local history. The ascent to Frankenstein castle ruins begins, and we reach the forest playground and green classroom. After a lasso round around Frankenstein, we take the same path back down to the valley. If this roadside offer is still not enough: you will also find relaxation chairs, a viewing tube, and a photo wall along the path.
