Besonders morgens, wenn der Tau noch im Gras glitzert und der Duft der Tannen besonders intensiv ist, sollte man die Wanderung am Rande Oberhofs einmal gegangen sein. Die Gründerjahre des Thüringer Wintersports waren wagemutig. Teilweise lässt sich die Wegführung der historischen Bobbahn noch nachspüren. Natur pur und Zeitreise zugleich. 1905 fanden die ersten offiziellen Ski-Wettkämpfe in Oberhof statt. Die Wadebergbobbahn war eine der schnellsten Bahnen der Welt.

The first official ski competitions in Oberhof took place in 1905. The Wadeberg bobsleigh run was one of the fastest tracks in the world.
