Der Weg startet am Regionalmuseum in Bad Frankenhausen und führt durch die Innenstadt zum Schiefen Turm. Dieser ist schiefer als sein Namensvetter in Piesa und besticht durch seine ingenieurtechnischen Sicherungsmaßnahmen und sein bald eröffnendes Besucherinformationszentrum. Weiter geht der Weg über die Blutrinne, deren Name von der denkwürdigen Bauernschlacht um 1525 rührt. Am Schlachtberg angekommen, ist es nicht mehr weit zur Stempelstelle am Obstpavillon des Naturparks Kyffhäuser. Auf dem Rückweg können Sie das Panorama Museum mit dem Monumentalgemälde von Werner Tübke bestaunen. Wieder an der frischen Luft verläuft der Weg nach Süden in das Wüste Kalktal. Das Tor in das Tal bildet ein GeoTop des Nationalen GeoParks Kyffhäuser, das aus dem so genannten Stinkschiefer besteht. Lernen Sie hier viel Spannendes über dieses lokale Gestein. Das Tal endet am Stadtpark und der Weg wendet sich nach Osten zur Elisabethquelle - dem größten städtischen Erdfall. Durch den Kurpark gelangen Sie schließlich zurück zum Ausgangspunkt der Wanderung.

The path starts at the Regional Museum in Bad Frankenhausen and leads through the city center to the Leaning Tower. This tower is more tilted than its namesake in Pisa and impresses with its engineering safety measures and its soon-to-open visitor information center. The path then continues over the Blutrinne, whose name originates from the memorable peasant battle around 1525. Upon reaching the Battle Hill, it is not far to the stamp station at the fruit pavilion of the Kyffhäuser Nature Park. On the way back, you can admire the Panorama Museum with the monumental painting by Werner Tübke. Once back outdoors, the path leads south into the Wüste Kalktal. The gateway to the valley is a GeoTop of the National GeoPark Kyffhäuser, made of the so-called stinking shale. Learn a lot of interesting facts about this local rock here. The valley ends at the city park, and the path turns east towards the Elisabeth spring—the largest urban sinkhole. Through the spa park, you finally return to the starting point of the hike.
