Ausgehend vom historischen Ortskern Vollenborn, streift der Weg den Landkreis Nordhausen und führt über den Barbarossa-Weg des Kyffhäuserkreises und das "Rondel" als höchstem Punkt des Dün durch einziartige Natur und ermöglicht atemberaubende Ausblicke über die Gesamtgemeinde Niederorschel. Die Wanderstrecke weist einen mittleren Schwierigkeitsgrad auf, wobei dieser aus den zu überwindenden ca. 175 Höhenmetern und dem Abstieg über den sogenannten „Keulaer Weg“ resultiert.Neben den historischen Gebäuden im Ort Vollenborn, wie dem rekonstruierten Rittergut, das u. a. dem Herrn v. Motz als Landrat des Eichsfeldes auch als Amtssitz diente, und der Martinskirche mit ihren im Umfeld platzierten Denkmälern, führt der Weg durch die typische Mischwaldkultur des Eichsfelds. Über den sogenannten „Ministerweg“ gelangt man – unter Überwindung des Höhenunterschiedes – zum „Barbarossa-Wanderweg“ auf dem Gipfel des Dün. Das „Rondel“ als höchster Punkt des Dün erlaubt einen herrlichen Ausblick auf weite Teile des Eichsfelder Kessels. Der Abstieg auf dem „Keulaer Weg“, als Klippenpfad, wird durch zahlreiche Stufen erleichtert. Auch der nicht geübte Wanderer bewältigt den Weg in ca. 120 Minuten.

Partant du centre historique de Vollenborn, le chemin frôle le district de Nordhausen et conduit par le sentier Barbarossa du district de Kyffhäuser ainsi que le "Rondel" en tant que point culminant du Dün à travers une nature unique, offrant des vues à couper le souffle sur l'ensemble de la commune de Niederorschel. Le parcours de randonnée présente un niveau de difficulté moyen, résultant des environ 175 mètres de dénivelé à franchir et de la descente via le soi-disant „chemin de Keulaer“. Outre les bâtiments historiques du village de Vollenborn, tels que le manoir reconstruit qui servait notamment de résidence administrative au seigneur von Motz en tant que Landrat de l'Eichsfeld, et l'église Saint-Martin entourée de monuments, le chemin traverse la forêt mixte typique de l'Eichsfeld. Par le soi-disant „chemin du Ministre“, on atteint – après avoir surmonté la différence d'altitude – le „sentier de randonnée Barbarossa“ au sommet du Dün. Le „Rondel“, point le plus élevé du Dün, offre une vue splendide sur une grande partie du bassin d'Eichsfeld. La descente par le „chemin de Keulaer“, un sentier calcaire, est facilitée par de nombreuses marches. Même le randonneur peu expérimenté peut parcourir ce chemin en environ 120 minutes.

Starting from the historic town center of Vollenborn, the trail touches the Nordhausen district and leads over the Barbarossa Trail of the Kyffhäuser district and the "Rondel" as the highest point of the Dün through unique nature, enabling breathtaking views over the entire Niederorschel community. The hiking route has a medium difficulty level, which results from the approximately 175 meters of altitude to be overcome and the descent via the so-called "Keulaer Weg." Besides the historic buildings in the town of Vollenborn, such as the reconstructed manor house, which served as an office seat for Mr. v. Motz as district administrator of Eichsfeld, and the Martinskirche with its monuments placed in the surroundings, the path leads through the typical mixed forest culture of Eichsfeld. Via the so-called "Ministerweg," one reaches – overcoming the elevation difference – the "Barbarossa Hiking Trail" on the summit of the Dün. The "Rondel" as the highest point of the Dün offers a wonderful view over large parts of the Eichsfeld basin. The descent on the "Keulaer Weg," as a cliff path, is facilitated by numerous steps. Even the inexperienced hiker can complete the trail in about 120 minutes.
