Non loin de Vollenborn se trouve l'un des points de vue les plus calmes et les plus beaux du nord de la Thuringe : le Keulaer Rondel. En empruntant le sentier de randonnée circulaire de Vollenborn, qui commence à l'arrêt de bus de Vollenborn, on atteint, après une montée raide à travers la vieille forêt de hêtres et un bon kilomètre le long d'un sentier étroit le long des Dünklippen, une colline dépourvue d'arbres à environ 517 mètres d'altitude. Not far from Vollenborn lies one of the quietest and most beautiful viewpoints in northern Thuringia: the Keulaer Rondel. Starting at the bus stop in Vollenborn, the Rondel circular hiking trail takes you up a steep climb through the old beech forest and along a narrow path at the Dünklippen for a good kilometer before reaching a treeless hill at an altitude of around 517 meters. From here, you can enjoy a sweeping view over the Eichsfeld basin, the gentle hills of the Dün and, on a clear day, as far as the Brocken in the Harz Mountains. The Rondel is located in the middle of the Keula Forest, a near-natural forest area with ancient beech trees, fragrant wild garlic in spring, and a dense carpet of ferns and mosses in summer. The path there leads along easily accessible trails, past quiet clearings and through the Plenterwald, where different generations of trees complement each other naturally. At the destination, hikers will find several benches and forest taverns, an information board, and a memorial stone commemorating the former "Rondel Society" – an association of forest owners who cared for the Keula Forest for generations. Unweit von Vollenborn entfernt liegt einer der stillsten und zugleich schönsten Aussichtspunkte im nördlichen Thüringen: das Keulaer Rondel. Über den Rondelrundwanderweg Vollenborn, beginnend an der Bushaltestelle in Vollenborn, erreicht man nach einem steilen Anstieg durch den alten Buchenwald und gut einem Kilometer entlang eines schmalen Pfades an den Dünklippen eine baumfreie Anhöhe auf rund 517 Metern Höhe. Hier oben öffnet sich ein weiter Blick über den Eichsfelder Kessel, über die sanften Höhen des Dün und – bei klarer Sicht – bis hin zum Brocken im Harz. Das Rondel liegt mitten im Keulaer Wald, einem naturnahen Waldgebiet mit uralten Buchen, duftendem Bärlauch im Frühjahr und einem dichten Teppich aus Farnen und Moosen im Sommer. Der Weg dorthin führt auf gut begehbaren Pfaden, vorbei an stillen Lichtungen und durch den Plenterwald, in dem sich verschiedene Baumgenerationen auf natürliche Weise ergänzen. Am Ziel erwartet den Wanderer mehrere Sitzbänke und Waldschänken, eine Infotafel und ein Gedenkstein, der an die frühere „Rondel-Gesellschaft“ erinnert – eine Vereinigung von Waldbesitzern, die sich über Generationen hinweg um die Pflege des Keulaer Waldes kümmerte. Der Ort strahlt Ruhe aus, nur das Rauschen des Windes in den Bäumen begleitet den Besucher. Das Keulaer Rondel ist mehr als nur ein Aussichtspunkt.
