Das Humboldtsche Schloss wurde im Jahr 1518 errichtet. Wilhelm von Humboldt heiratete hier 1791 Caroline von Dacheröden und lebte bis März 1793 zurückgezogen im Gutshaus. Das Schloss kann fortan auf eine bewegte Geschichte zurückblicken, denn es war 1945 als Gemeindeeigentum Wohnraum für Flüchtlinge und Vertriebene, wurde 1950 nach einem entsprechenden Umbau als Grundschule genutzt und ist seit 1988 schließich für die Öffentlichkeit zugänglich. Aufgrund von Umbaumaßnahmen kann das Schloss momentan nur von außen besichtigt werden.
Humboldt Castle was built in 1518. Wilhelm von Humboldt married Caroline von Dacheröden here in 1791 and lived in seclusion in the manor house until March 1793. The castle has had an eventful history: in 1945, as municipal property, it served as housing for refugees and displaced persons; in 1950, following renovations, it was used as an elementary school; and since 1988, it has finally been open to the public. Due to renovation work, the castle can currently only be viewed from the outside.
Le château de Humboldt a été construit en 1518. C'est là que Wilhelm von Humboldt épousa Caroline von Dacheröden en 1791 et vécut reclus dans le manoir jusqu'en mars 1793. Le château a depuis lors connu une histoire mouvementée : en 1945, alors qu'il appartenait à la commune, il a servi de logement aux réfugiés et aux personnes déplacées ; en 1950, après avoir été réaménagé, il a été utilisé comme école primaire ; et depuis 1988, il est enfin ouvert au public. En raison de travaux de rénovation, le château ne peut actuellement être visité que de l'extérieur.
