About: Veit-Bach-Mill Veit-Bach-Obermühle

This is probably where Veit Bach played his cittern - for Johann Sebastian Bach, this was “the beginning of music for his descendants”. It was the idea of playing music to the beat of the mill that sounded best to him. The Veit-Bach-Mill has been restored to the way it looked in 1685 and can be visited. The original panelled room in Thuringian style dating from 1585 was discovered during a demolition project around the turn of the millennium. This is the reason why the mill was rescued and restored to its original condition. Now it can be visited upon advance reservation at the Bach Ancestral Home.

C'est probablement à cet endroit que Veit Bach jouait ses "cythringen" - pour Johann Sebastian Bach, c'était le début de la musique chez ses descendants. C'est justement le fait de jouer de la musique au rythme du moulin qu'il imaginait comme particulièrement mélodieux. Le moulin Veit Bach a été restauré selon l'état de construction de 1685 et peut être visité. Mais si le moulin a pu être conservé et restauré, c'est grâce à la découverte d'une pièce originale en madriers de Thuringe datant de 1585 lors des travaux de démolition au tournant du millénaire. La démolition a été stoppée et l'ensemble du moulin a été restauré. Il est aujourd'hui possible de le visiter en prenant rendez-vous auprès de la maison mère de Bach.

Wahrscheinlich spielte an diesem Ort Veit Bach seine „Cythringen“ – für Johann Sebastian Bach galt dies als der Anfang zur Music bei seinen Nachkommen. Gerade das Musizieren im Takt der Mühle stellte er sich als besonders wohlklingend vor. Die Veit-Bach-Mühle ist nach dem Bauzustand von 1685 restauriert worden und kann besichtigt werden. Dass die Mühle aber überhaupt erhalten und wiederhergestellt wurde, ist der Entdeckung einer originalen Thüringer Bohlenstube aus dem Jahr 1585 bei den Abrissarbeiten zur Jahrtausendwende zu verdanken. Der Abbruch wurde gestoppt und die gesamte Mühle restauriert. Sie ist heute nach Voranmeldung über das Bach-Stammhaus zu besichtigen.
