About: Kölleda

Avec ses 6.500 habitants, Kölleda est l'une des plus grandes villes de l'arrondissement de Sömmerda. La petite ville se trouve à portée de vue de la Hohe Schrecke, la zone urbaine comprend des parties de la forêt primitive de trois chaînes de montagnes avec un domaine de randonnée professionnellement aménagé. Le climat particulièrement doux et sec ainsi qu'un réseau de pistes cyclables bien développé, dont la piste cyclable Finnebahn, font de la région une zone attractive pour les randonnées à pied et à vélo. Kölleda est connue pour son ancienne culture de menthe poivrée et d'herbes aromatiques. Même si la production d'herbes s'est déplacée vers d'autres régions du bassin de Thuringe, un moulin à herbes rappelle aujourd'hui l'élevage et la production à but lucratif d'herbes qui sont désormais cultivées et transformées principalement pour un usage médical. La fête la plus connue de la ville, la fête de Wippertus, est célébrée chaque année en l'honneur du saint patron de la ville, le week-end de l'Ascension. La princesse ancestrale de la menthe poivrée ne peut pas non plus y manquer. Un musée technique et un musée de la nature rappellent l'ancien site économique, mais aussi le paysage unique où l'homme s'est installé autrefois.

Mit 6.500 Einwohnern zählt Kölleda zu den größten Orten im Landkreis Sömmerda. Das Städtchen liegt in Sichtweite zur Hohen Schrecke, das Stadtgebiet umfasst Teile des urwüchsigen Waldes dreier Höhenzüge mit einem professionell ausgebautem Wanderrevier. Das besonders milde und trockene Klima und ein gut ausgebautes Radwegenetz, u.a. dem Finnebahn-Radweg, machen die Gegend zu einer attraktiven Region für Wanderungen zu Fuß und mit dem Rad. Bekannt ist Kölleda durch den ehemaligen Anbau von Pfefferminze und Kräutern. Auch wenn sich die Kräuterproduktion in andere Regionen des Thüringer Beckens verlagert hat, erinnert heute eine Kräutermühle an die erwerbsmäßige Aufzucht und Herstellung von Kräutern, die nun vornehmlich für die medizinische Anwendung angebaut und verarbeitet werden. Das bekannteste Fest der Stadt, das Wippertusfest, wird jährlich zu Ehren des Schutzpatrons der Stadt am Himmelfahrtswochenende gefeiert. Auch die angestammte Pfefferminzprinzessin darf dort nicht fehlen. Ein technisches Museum und ein Naturmuseum erinnern an den einstigen Wirtschaftsstandort aber auch die einmalige Landschaft mit früher menschlicher Besiedlung.

With 6,500 inhabitants, Kölleda is one of the largest towns in the district of Sömmerda. The small town is within sight of the Hohe Schrecke, and the urban area includes parts of the unspoilt forest of three mountain ranges with a professionally developed hiking area. The particularly mild and dry climate and a well-developed network of cycle paths, including the Finnebahn cycle path, make the area an attractive region for hikes on foot and by bike. Kölleda is known for the former cultivation of peppermint and herbs. Even though herb production has shifted to other regions of the Thuringian Basin, a herb mill today is a reminder of the commercial cultivation and production of herbs, which are now grown and processed primarily for medicinal use. The town's most famous festival, the Wippertusfest, is celebrated annually in honor of the town's patron saint on Ascension weekend. The traditional peppermint princess is not to be missed. A technical museum and a nature museum are reminders of the former business location as well as the unique landscape with early human settlement.
