Der Weg führt anschließend durch Schatten spendende Pappeln und Birken in den Hainichwald. Nach kurzer Zeit ist schon der Gänsekropf erreicht. Auf diesem gerade zurückgelegten Weg marschierte bis in die 1990er Jahre noch das Militär. Über einen schmalen Pfad gelangen Sie in das Brunstal mit seinem gleichnamigen Erlebnispfad (Markierung: braunes Ahornblatt). Nach einigen Stationen auf dem Erlebnispfad führt Ihr Weg nun mehrmals bergauf und bergab durch das wildromantische Brunstal.
