Mitten im grünen Herzen Deutschlands, dort, wo sich die Werra in jahrtausendelanger, mühevoller Kleinarbeit durch das Kalkgebirge gegraben hat, liegt die Stadt Amt Creuzburg. Seit mehr als 1200 Jahren ist die Stadt Amt Creuzburg als Siedeldorf bekannt und besitzt seit 1213 das Stadtrecht. Damit ist sie eine der ältesten Städte Thüringens - 10 km von Eisenach entfernt. Wechselvoll war die Geschichte der kleinen Stadt, die bis vor wenigen Jahren meistens in der Pufferzone großer Mächte lag. Diesem Umstand ist es wohl auch zuzuschreiben, dass ihre Entwicklung, die im Mittelalter so verheißungsvoll begann, immer wieder gehemmt wurde - letztlich auch mit den Zerstörungen am Ende des 2. Weltkrieges. Dennoch legen zahlreiche historische Bauwerke, wie Burg Creuzburg, Gottesackerkirche, Stadtkirche St. Nicolai, Stadtmauer, Rathaus und Werrabrücke mit Liboriuskapelle sowie die Bodendenkmale, Zeugnis davon ab, dass das Amt Creuzburg eine historische Stadt ist. Durch seine romantische Lage an der Werra direkt zwischen dem Hainich-Nationalpark und der Wartburg bietet sich dem Besucher ein umfangreiches touristisches Angebot.

In the middle of the green heart of Germany, where the Werra has carved its way through the limestone mountains over thousands of years of painstaking work, lies the town of Amt Creuzburg. The town of Amt Creuzburg has been known as a settlement village for more than 1200 years and has had a town charter since 1213. This makes it one of the oldest towns in Thuringia - 10 km from Eisenach. The history of the small town, which until a few years ago was mostly located in the buffer zone of major powers, has been eventful. It is probably due to this circumstance that its development, which began so promisingly in the Middle Ages, was hindered time and again - ultimately also by the destruction at the end of the Second World War. Nevertheless, numerous historical buildings, such as Creuzburg Castle, Gottesackerkirche church, St. Nicolai town church, town wall, town hall and Werrabrücke bridge with Liborius Chapel, as well as the archaeological monuments, bear witness to the fact that Creuzburg is a historical town. Thanks to its romantic location on the Werra, directly between the Hainich National Park and Wartburg Castle, visitors can enjoy a wide range of tourist attractions.

La ville d'Amt Creuzburg se trouve en plein cœur vert de l'Allemagne, là où la Werra s'est frayée un chemin à travers les montagnes calcaires au prix d'un travail millénaire et laborieux. La ville d'Amt Creuzburg est connue depuis plus de 1200 ans comme village de colonisation et possède le droit de cité depuis 1213. Elle est ainsi l'une des plus anciennes villes de Thuringe, à 10 km d'Eisenach. L'histoire de la petite ville a été mouvementée et, jusqu'à il y a quelques années, elle se trouvait le plus souvent dans la zone tampon des grandes puissances. C'est sans doute pour cette raison que son développement, qui avait commencé de manière si prometteuse au Moyen-Âge, a toujours été entravé, notamment par les destructions de la fin de la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Néanmoins, de nombreux monuments historiques, tels que le château de Creuzburg, l'église Gottesackerkirche, l'église municipale St. Nicolai, les remparts, l'hôtel de ville et le pont sur la Werbe avec la chapelle Liborius, ainsi que les monuments au sol, témoignent du fait que l'Amt Creuzburg est une ville historique.
